OUR Preps found themselves busy cooking up a storm which was both FUN and EDUCATIONAL when 'The Colourful Chef' came to town!
It has been a great term of learning with the Preps! Our Preps have put on their ‘fun hats’ and engaged in letter and number exploration through play!
The Preps enjoyed an adventurous, interactive and fun filled day at Bundoora Children's Farm on Thursday 5th November. Although the weather was not on our side to begin, the Preps put on their raincoats and became busy little farmers feeding the animals, riding the tractors and watering the vegetable gardens.
If you go to the wall opposite the classrooms for the Preps and the Grade 1/2s, you'll see a wall frame full of pots, each with the name of a Prep student, and each filled with young flower seedlings. It looks beautiful!
Wanting to get this program going, we approached Bunnings store at Epping. They were really interested and generously donated pots, soil and seedlings so that we could get the program under way. Oh, and they donated new gloves and gardening tools, too!
On a sunny day recently, each student filled a pot with potting soil and, with the help of some parents and senior students, transplanted the seedlings. Then they chose a place for their own pot. Now they're watering them keenly watching to see the flowers appear!
Come and see the Preps' new wall garden!
During Term 3, the Preps are investigating how toys work and their particular features that make them different and more fun!
