Students brought traditional yummy foods from their backgrounds, highlighting their different cultures to share with their friends. Everyone sat down and enjoyed the feast together celebrating everyone's differences. It was a wonderful day!
On Wednesday the 4th of May the 5/6 students had their incursion called 'Gold in the Heart’ by master storyteller Jan Wositzky. It told the story of the 1850’s gold rush through the adventures of an Irish gold digger, Denis O’Reilly.
“My favourite thing was getting to act and sing along and entertain my friends” Declan.
“I learnt that indigenous Australians used to call gold Kara Kara” Daniella.
“I got to act as Mrs Kennedy. I got to dress up and pretend I was from Castlemaine.” Jacinta.
“I enjoyed watching my class mates on stage. I learnt how the gold got under ground and we all got to ask Jan questions.” Leila.
